Post-study work visa (485) — is it worth it?

I’m finishing my Masters in July and trying to decide about the 485 visa. Would love to hear from people who’ve been through the process.

My questions:

  1. How long did processing take for you?
  2. Did you find work in your field?
  3. Is it worth the cost if you’re not sure about staying long-term?
  4. Any tips for the application?

For context, I’m studying Data Science at UNSW. My understanding is I’d get 2-3 years on the 485.
