- You can work up to 48 hours per fortnight during semester
- Unlimited hours during scheduled course breaks
- Your course must have started before you can begin working
Your rights:
- You’re entitled to minimum wage (currently $23.23/hour)
- Employers MUST pay you superannuation if you earn over $450/month
- You have the same workplace rights as Australian citizens
Red flags to watch for:
- Cash-in-hand payments (often means underpayment)
- Being asked to work more than your visa allows
- Employers asking you to pay for your own training
